Dr. Tessa Christy PT, DPT, MTC

Hi, I’m Tessa. I’m so glad you’ve found me and PT Plus! I am a Lodi native and graduate of Lodi High School- class of 2006. I attended UC Davis for my undergraduate degree, and then ventured to North Carolina and graduated from Duke University in 2014 with my doctorate in physical therapy. I then went on to obtain my Manual Therapy Certification in 2015 and became dry needling certified in 2016.

My background is mostly in outpatient orthopedics, but after having my daughter in 2021, I found a passion for pelvic health and identified a huge gap in the availability of pelvic health practitioners. When I reeturned from maternity leave, I dove into training and completed multiple courses and a mentorship program. I am involved in pelvic health forums across the country and remain active in continuing to further my pelvic health knowledge and skills. I built the pelvic health program at our local hospital clinic before deciding to venture out on my own. Although the hospital clinic was a great start, I felt like the constraints of a large hospital system were not conducive to the type of care I wanted to provide for my pelvic health patients. Thus, PT Plus was born!

I now treat pelvic health patients in Lodi, CA and via telehealth for patients in both California and Colorado. The name PT+ came to be because pelvic physical therapy should really encompass the whole person (the whole body, the pelvis, diet, exercise, etc). This being said, I take a whole body approach to treatment- drawing on my orthopedic background and undergraduate degree in psychology to help patients reach their goals and improve their quality of life. And you don’t have to have a pelvic concern to see me- I still love working with all patients needing physical therapy care!
